Counseling

My individual counseling practice is based on being with you in your emotional  world and helping you explore this world, particularly understanding “what happened to you” and “what is happening to you.” I incorporate attachment, NMT, solution focused therapy, neuroscience, cognitive behavioral therapy and more into our time together. I believe we all do the best we can in all places, at all times and with all people. We cannot change the past. Together, we organize your feelings on the past while we safely explore a new present and future.

365 clients recommendations to you, in session experience and overall thoughts:

Consulting

I consult with La Crosse , Monroe, Buffalo, Pepin, Trempealeau, Vernon, Houston, Fond du Lac, Juneau, and other counties on implementing evidence-based programming and complex cases. I provide leadership and guidance with various school districts on development and implementation of Trauma Informed practices and NMT in the classroom and school-wide.

Prior to Stein Counseling and Consulting Services Ltd., I was an Adjunct Faculty Member at Viterbo University teaching undergraduate courses of Effective Behavior and Interviewing and an in-home counselor.

Consulting with private practice practitioners who want to expand, adapt and grow their practice is something I love to do as well.

The project is a five-year project working with eight sites that will implement evidence-based interventions or develop and test promising practices which if proven effective can be replicated or adapted in other child welfare jurisdictions. Effective interventions are expected to achieve long-term, stable permanence in adoptive and guardianship homes for waiting children as well as children and families after adoption or guardianship has been finalized. I am in Phase 3 Mentoring with Dr Perry and training in the Neurosequential Model of Reflective Supervision with Dr. Kristi Brandt.
